CHM 110 03 (10 week): Board notes for 06/17/2014

Here are today’s CHM 110 notes for section 3 (the ten-week session).  These notes discuss basic chemical calculations:  mass/mole relationships, solution volume/mole relationships (molarity).

Tip:  The calculation covered in today’s class are the foundation of all the math we’ll be doing for the rest of the summer.  Make sure you start working on this stuff immediately and come see me or the tutors in the Success Center ASAP if you’re having and trouble with it!

Here’s a list of tools for chemical calculations that we’ll be doing in CHM 110.  We’ve only covered formula weight and molar concentration so far.  We’ll discuss the chemical equation more on Thursday, and the rest when we get to Chapters 5 and 6.
