CHM 110: Lab experiment for the week of 1/22/18 – 1/26/18

CHM 110 labs are now beginning, and your first laboratory experiment will be an introductory experiment about accuracy, precision, and common laboratory measurement tools.  The link below is to a copy of the experiment for the week (it’s not in the lab manual):

[CHM 110: Introductory Experiment]

Please read it before coming in for your first lab.  You do not need to print out a copy – I’ll have a printed copy available for you to use in the lab.

Any questions?  Ask in comments here or in-person at our first lab meeting!

Weather Delay for FDTC, Thursday 1/18/18

From the FDTC web site:

Alert: Because of the inclement weather, all classes for FDTC’s Evening College are cancelled Wednesday, January 16, 2018. All 8 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. classes on all of the campuses of FDTC are cancelled Thursday, January 18, 2018. Faculty and staff report at 10 a.m. Thursday.

Here’s how this affects CHM 110 and CHM 111 for Thursday:

  • CHM 110-03:  Since classes resume before it starts, the 11:00 AM CHM 110-03 lecture class will meet as scheduled.
  • CHM 111-01:  The 9:30 AM lecture class is cancelled.  The 2:30 PM lab, though, is not cancelled and will meet as scheduled.
