Hurricane Michael is on the way! So far, the expected time of arrival in our area for tropical storm force winds is Thursday.
As of 3:30 PM on Wednesday, FDTC has announced:
Alert: Florence-Darlington Technical College is monitoring the approach of Hurricane Michael. The storm is expected to arrive during the day on Thursday. FDTC will operate on a normal schedule on Thursday.
I’ll update here when I have more information. This post will stay at the top of the page until the storm passes, so scroll down to see the latest class notes.

In other words, classes and labs will resume on Wednesday. See you then!
FDTC announced this afternoon that the college would be closed starting on Tuesday:
Alert: Beginning on Tuesday, September 11, 2018, all of Florence-Darlington Technical College’s campuses will be closed until further notice for students, staff and faculty due to Hurricane Florence.
The school will likely re-open once Hurricane Florence is gone, depending on the level of damage to the area. You can read official updates from the school here. I’ll also post an update on this site when I get word of when FDTC will re-open. Stay safe!
Monday September 3rd is the Labor Day holiday, so there will be no class or lab then. Enjoy your day off. Remember, though, that the first test for all sections of CHM 110 and CHM 111 are near the end of next week.
If you have any questions, either leave a comment here on the site or send me an e-mail. Enjoy the long weekend!
